Developing a single structure? Or a large-scale, multi-unit scheme across multiple locations?

We have the capability to undertake testing programmes tailored to your project requirements. Our testing services include tensile testing up to 120kN and compression testing up to 150kN per ground screw.

All load testing is carried out in accordance with BS EN 1997-1:2004 (Eurocode 7) and project specific engineering requirements so you can be completely confident in the performance of your foundation system.

Testing Services Available:
Tensile load testing up to 120kN per ground screw
Compression load testing up to 150kN per ground screw
Independent engineering reports and structural documentation
Testing programmes for single-site and multi-site developments

DOES EVERY PROJECT REQUIRE A GROUND TEST?

Not always.

Many smaller projects can be designed and installed using existing ground data and our experience of local ground conditions. However, a site specific survey and load testing are recommended for any building control compliance, larger structures, complex ground conditions, or where planning, engineering, or warranty requirements call for detailed foundation specifications. We’d also recommend a ground test if you are unsure of the condition of the land underneath – this avoids any delays or failed installations.

Our team can carry out surveys and ground tests for projects of any size, providing the data needed to ensure your ground screw foundations are correctly specified and fully suited to site conditions.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A GROUND TEST?

Site Visit Arranged
Our team will arrange a convenient date to visit your site and carry out the ground screw test.

Site Preparation
Before we arrive, we ask that the test area is made completely clear so our team can easily access the installation location.`

Test Ground Screw Installed
We will install at least one ground screw within the proposed installation area. This also gives you the opportunity to see how the ground screw installation process works.

Testing Equipment Set Up
Once the ground screw is installed, our team will set up the appropriate testing equipment to measure the resistance and performance of the screw in your ground conditions.

Compression or Tensile Test Completed
Depending on the requirements of the project, we will carry out either a compression test or a tensile test to assess how the ground screw performs under load.

Ground Screw Removed
After testing is complete, the ground screw is removed cleanly with no digging, no concrete, and no damage to the surrounding area.

Results Provided
The test results can then be used to support the correct specification of your ground screw foundations for the project.
